The ladies of the Fashion Arts Society and I gathered, last Thursday afternoon, at G. Thrapp Jewlers to explore some amazing estate jewelry. We had the pleasure of hearing from Gary Thrapp about his decades of experience in the estate jewelry world. Each piece he showed us had a great story and history to accompany it sparkle and shine. This truly made each piece even more unique and special. We were like kids in a candy shop, as Murph Damron put it, when it came to trying on some of these sparkling gems.

I’m curious what the jeweler had to say about the 2 charms in one of the pictures. I have a ring that belonged to my great-grandmother that looks just like them. It’s rectangular etched glass with a diamond in the middle. Very 20’s Gatsby looking. Is there a name for the style? The pieces are gorgeous!
I have a pendant like that too. It’s “rock crystal”. Murph is THE BEST to jewelry shop with! She picked out several items for me at the last fashion swap!
