Kathleen Post is a fellow Indianapolis fashion blogger (Lemon Blonde) and a girl about town. She loves the downtown hotspots and knows all the best places to grab coffee with the girls or dinner with the hubby. Take a look at some of her favorite places to be in Indy!

1.What part of Indy do you live in?
I live in Fletcher Place in Downtown Indianapolis

2. What is our city’s “hidden gem”?
I would actually say Fletcher Place! There are so many cute restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. People are always suprised at how much Fletcher Place has to offer.

3. What is your favorite restaurant?
I would have to say Bakersfield- They have the best margaritas, tacos, and chips and salsa. I usually go once a week and NEVER get sick of it!

4. Where is your favorite place to take an out-of-town guest?
That’s a hard question! I love going out for brunch or sweets so probably Milktooth, General American Donut Co., or Cake Bake.

5. Where is the best place to grab a cocktail?
Hotel Tango! It’s also in Fletcher Place. It has a great vibe and amazing cocktails.

6. Where is a great place to pick up a unique gift?
Silver in the City on Mass Avenue has some really fun (and funny) gifts.

7. Where can you get the best cup of coffee?
Calvin Fletcher or Hubbard and Cravens both have great coffee.

8. What is your favorite part about living in Indy?
When you live in Indy, you get the best of both worlds. You get to enjoy everything that a big city has to offer without sacrificing your normal lifestyle. You can live downtown in the heart of the city without paying big city prices. It’s fun and fast paced, but people are nice and still have “Hoosier Hospitality”. There are tons of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and boutiques all within walking distance- OR you can drive and actually find parking! There is always something going on- a festival, concert, a bike race, a parade-you name it. Indy has so much to offer and they just keep improving. the city has changed SO much in just 5 years. It’s a great place for young professionals right now- the job market is booming and apartment complexes keep popping up. I love how Indy is really catering to young professionals and I think it’s only going to get better from here. Rant over.

9. Who is your favorite Indy based artist, designer, writer, or blogger ?
That’s a tough question! Since I started my blog one year ago, I have met so many other great bloggers, photographers, designers, boutique owners, etc. One of my favorite artists is Wendy Volkmar, she is an amazing painter. I have one of her pieces in my living room and it’s gorgeous. A few of my favorite Indy bloggers are Chandler Nehrt of Candidly Chan and Morgan England of Style on Edge.
10. What would you like to see next for our city ?
I want to see the downtown area to continue to develop with more restaurants and stores. It’s definitely on the upswing, but there are still a few things we are missing. I would love to see a few health food stores pop up downtown. Most big cities have a Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s in the downtown area, but we don’t have many (or any) health food store options. I would love to see more boutiques and shops in the downtown area. I think most boutiques are on the north side, but as the downtown area continues to grow, I hope to see more added.

We hope this inspires you to try new experiences in our little slice of the midwest!
